Update from North Africa.
May 21, 2008
Hey guys, below is an email that we got from the 7ten global team in Africa. Because of the nature of the place where they are ministering the email must be ambiguous. Please keep them in your prayers as they are sharing the light of Christ in one of the darkest places on the planet.
Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your prayers. We have had a great few days traveling and working.
Our adventure began on Saturday in Phoenix and took us to JFK airport in New York where we ran to make a quick connection. We were able to make our flight but our bags didn’t. From New York we had an 8 hour flight to Spain. Upon arriving in Spain on Sunday morning we quickly realized that our bags decided that they liked New York better and, therefore, decided to stay. After taking an hour of our 2 hour layover trying to figure out where our bags were and how to get them we took the remaining hour running to make our connection to Spain. We arrived safely around 2pm on Saturday afternoon and were met by our friends Nate and Brianna. We had some dinner with familiar faces and then crossed the border. An uneventful 2.5 hour cab ride brought us to our destination.
We got a good night’s sleep and began working at 8am this morning. It was a great day of white washing, digging, and laying brick. We were very excited to finish the white washing and painting on the same house that we dug a foundation for last year. The family remembered us and were very thankful and excited to see us again. We are looking forward to another wonderful day tomorrow. The weather is absolutely beautiful and we will not miss the Arizona triple digits.
Everyone is feeling really good. Even though Jeff and Hillary started our trip with a touch of the flu they are back to 100% and working hard. Due to our lost baggage and the absence of gloves, Jeff and Eric ended their day of digging with some pretty good blisters on their hands.
The only real hiccup that we have had is our lost baggage. The airline says that they have located it and that we should have it tomorrow night. Please pray that it is so.
Sincerely,
Team 1
